Arrow switches

Switching doesn’t move shapes.

Each letter turns every arrow with that letter. Solid arrows show where a shape goes next.

Keyboard: A / B / C change arrows · Space moves one step · Z undoes · R restarts.

How it works.

  1. Bring both shapes home. The orange circle goes to the circle ring; the purple diamond goes to the diamond outline.
  2. Change the arrows. Tap A, B or C to turn every arrow with that letter. The bold arrow shows the way a shape will go; the dotted arrow is the other way.
  3. Move one step. Both shapes move one square, following the bold arrow they are on. Change arrows as often as you like between steps. Once a shape is home, it stays there.
  4. Make room for each other. Shapes cannot land on the same square or swap places in one step. Loops let one take the long way. Undo remembers your last 256 moves, including the move before a mistake.
  5. Later chapters add ringed squares. A shape landing on a ringed square turns that letter, as if you had tapped it. A letter shown with a lock has no button at all: only its ringed squares can turn it.
  6. Chapters 8 to 10 add turnstiles. A turnstile’s arrow turns one notch every step by itself, whatever you tap. The bold arrow is this step; the dotted one is next. In chapter 10 some turnstiles have a ring: landing on one turns its letter.
  7. The last chapter adds swap squares. A shape landing on one makes its two letters trade settings. If they already match, nothing changes.

Every puzzle is on the Puzzles tab, with a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone and changes at midnight UTC. There are no timers, lives, sounds or sign-ins.
